Answer

I’m male but there seems to be a lot of unusual healing when you fast.

I’m bald and I started to notice baby hairs on my head start to sprout (nothing anyone else would notice but I sure did) during a water fast. I thought it was just from the low T many people get from fasting. However, the bald spots on my legs (which have been without hair my entire life) started to grow hairs right in the middle of that spot. Low testosterone should hinder hair growth on my legs, so it has nothing to do with hormone levels.

It’s freaking amazing! Fasting might work for you, but I’m not sure if dry fasting makes a difference.

I did a seven day fast. I’d say I did about two and a half or three of those days dry (I don’t exactly remember). Unexpectedly during the fast, my period came about two weeks (!) earlier than usual, which was a big shock to me. Plus, I didn’t have any cramping as a warning sign I was getting my period beforehand, which was very surprising. I usually get incredibly painful cramps before and during I unfortunately have to take advil for. I continued to fast while I had my period and to my surprise my flow was a lot thinner and heavier. It’s usually a coagulant, clumpy rust stain than barely soaks a pad. Also, during the fast my skin cleared up, my waist was more defined, and I had a sex drive.

I never struggled with anemorrhea (loss of monthly periods) but I do have extremely low progesterone and other female hormones that result in low vitality, hairloss, histruism, acne, cramping, rusty periods, lack of blood and loss of sexual interest. I have some kind of HPA axis disorder lumped in with lean pcos.

Honestly, I feel way better fasted than when I eat food.

I definitely can say dry fasting saved me when it comes to this. I have PCOS and for many years I would have no period for months and then could have my period for weeks, months at a time. Periods were always hemorrhagic and extremely painful. Not even sure how I survived living like this.

I never needed contraception because I simply couldn’t get pregnant even if I wanted it, which was very depressing to me.

When I started dry fasting and eating carnivore my period became totally normal. Now I actually like to dry fast during my period because I barely bleed and have no pain whatsoever.

I now need to be careful around contraception because it is a common effect to easily get pregnant for women who go carnivore or fast often. I would advise you to check the carb addiction doc videos on YouTube about PCOS as he talks not only about PCOS but also about women fertility as a whole, hormones and period. He explains what is going on and why some of us end up struggling so badly with our fertility.
