Finished 14 days, lost 27 lbs.

First fast over 7 days for me. For reference I’m male, 1.85 m, started at 130 kg, now 118 kg (6’1”, 287 > 260 lbs).

Apart from the usual first days of hunger, I just had cravings. Got my electrolytes dialed pretty fast, so it was actually very normal and I didn’t have to think about it much.

Dirty fasted with diet soda and nicotine, and it was generally much easier than any fast I’d done previously. Did a solid first meal (meat and eggs) and it’s been no issue, not even with bowel movements.

This was helped by good motivation from starting an internship soon (which is why I had to stop the fast for now; there will be professional lunches next week) and the prospect of becoming an uncle this summer.

My goal is 80-ish kg (175 lbs), but I’ll pretty much be happy when I can tuck my shirt in without muffin-topping and live a more active lifestyle.

Gonna be doing extended fasts whenever my schedule allows moving forward and otherwise OMAD with a severe deficit, hoping to get close to my goal by the time my niece/nephew is born. I need to get this done before I start suffering real health consequences of my obesity.

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience, hoping others can use it as reference or motivation (as I have with your posts) - and to celebrate the modest personal achievement.

Can you elaborate on your electrolytes? A classmate of mine and I were geeking out about our experiences with fasting and he just so happened to have some LMNT packets that he traded me. I’m only doing rolling 48’s so I haven’t wanted to use them yet, but did you find it useful?

You also mentioned drinking sodas, did you feel that the small dosage of sodium (and other minerals) ended up helping?

So proud of you! Way to go! Also doing 14 day water fast - hoping to lose at least 10lbs bc I’m 5’4” and SW was about 155, doubt I’ll lose 27 but would be nice. Not banking on it though. Either way, great work!!!!!
