Some things to keep in mind. You can step off the train at any time. As we try longer fasts there is no shame in bailing early the first few attempts. Get 19 hours the first time? Great, go for 20 the second, and so on. Especially if you start to feel ill. Don’t push it. When we do longer fasts (I do 36 hours out of every 48) it should feel generally good and your body should be in sync and doing its part without complaint. That doesn’t mean the transition isn’t rough. It can be.

With a history of hypoglycemia, have you cleared this with your GP? I probably would do that first. Knowing if going into ketosis (fat burning mode) will be ok or not is kind of important.

EDIT: Qualification on your iron vitamins. Without food that could be sketchy on your stomach. You may want to hold off on the iron until you’re at the end of the fast and are eating.
