Finished my first 48hr fast yesterday. My initial goal in the fast wasn’t to lose weight. It was to practice SELF CONTROL, which I’ve lacked a lot since working from home since C-19 started. I already feel less bloated and have a sense of control. My 3 year old daughter likes to bring me snacks and gifted me a triple chocolate chip muffin this morning from the pantry. I thought about indulging for a minute, but my feeling now out weighs the temporary pleasure of the sweet treat. I substituted the muffin for a big ol’ glass of water. I’m planning on intermittently fasting until my next 48hr, which I’m actually looking forward to. Thank you all for sharing your advice, support, and experiences. It helps a lot.
Congrats!, I have been an IFer for almost a year and recently started periodic Fasts of 24-36-48 and in the Middle of a 70 hour fast . then just IF when not doing longer, Kinda feels like I will eventually convert to OMAD with a tiny 2 hour window, and I too am not trying to lose weight Just maintaining after losing 50 pounds a few years ago and stop alcohol and i LOVE the way it makes me feel! keep on keeping on!
