Hi persevering fasters,
You are doing great, it’s all willpower, keep going.
Yesterday I finished my first 72h fast. It was a great experience, but never again when you don’t have a lot to loose. I’ll explain why. And also what I loved about it
I am fasting because I want to lose 10k (SW: 69kg/152 pd, CW: 62,5/137 pd: GW: 59/130 pd, length: 173 cm) and because of autophagy. (in another post I said I was 68kg, but I looked it up and started at 68.7 so, 69 sounded fairer)
Things I learned:
For some of you these might be open doors, but for a first timer like me and maybe others, this might help. The electrolytes I took are: Potassium, magnesium, calcium and salt.
First day I took the first three in the morning and salt throughout the day. Next days, I pounded the pills & daily salt together and took it throughout the day with some water, or shook it through some water. Didn’t make much of a difference to me.I didn’t use sachets because I’m not going to pay 50 EUR for 30 sachets that contain natrium, potassium and magnesium and contain carbs as well (LMNT). (that would cost 8 euro for 60 portions if I buy that in a drugsstore)This is obviously something everybody has to decide for themselves because the flavor (Mango Chilli, yum) must be very welcome.
That’s it, everybody good luck with your journey and 😘
>Doing things makes you feel less hungry
This. For me it’s shopping at the crafts store. I can literally spend all day in a craft store and not even realize how long I’ve been there lol. Excellent way to push past the mental compulsion to graze. Keeping the stomach full with green tea or plain water makes any rumbling stop.
The first time ever doing 72 hrs is hard. I remember only making it to like 68 and not feeling right. Fasting does take practice and it does get easier with less symptoms the more you do it even for longer fasts like 72hrs plus
