First NSV - I can shave my legs again!

Alright, so I jumped right into my fasting routine, and am on hour 92 and a 1/2. I think I’ll break it at hour 96 with OMAD or bone broth and veggies (depending on how my stomach feels). I’m down 13.7lbs since I started this fast and feeling wonderful! Wanted to make it down 15lbs, but I figure I’m on the right path, and a quick beginning fast will jump start my body a little. :)

Started at 260lbs (260.9lbs technically, but I entered 260 because who doesn’t want to start at a nice round number?) and am now at 246.3lbs. I’m aiming for 150lbs then will see how I feel on if I want to lose more. I like my curves an don’t want to lose them entirely. I now have 96.3lbs to lose in total, but my focus is the next 6.4lbs. Was showering last night and realized, hey, I can shave my legs again! About damned time, I was starting to look like Sasquatch!

I haven’t exercised or done anything alongside it since I’m just starting out again, but after a few weeks, I’ll jump into a regular routine of walking if I can convince myself to leave the house (agoraphobic) instead of taking my eBike. I also quit drinking and smoking cigarettes (will be five months sober tomorrow, actually) – and I put my IFing on hold, as they say ‘you put down the bottle and pick up the fork’, and oh boy, were they right.

This is a good beginning, and I appreciate being apart of this group, because it helps me hold myself accountable. I was kind of hoping to fast a little longer, but my partner dislikes it when I go too long, and prefers when I do OMAD at least. I’m okay with that. I’ll check in again when I make it out of the Furious Forties and make it into the Dirty Thirties! <3

I’m glad you are looking for the NSV’s!

Going completely by the numbers on the scale (especially with long fasts) can lead to some fairly large disappointments. You will have lost a lot of water weight by completely depleting your glycogen stores, and in your first few meals and water, will likely put back on a decent amount of water weight.

So make sure you aren’t ONLY excited by the numbers on the scale, and make sure you recognize that quick weight loss during an extended fast often rebounds quite quickly when you start eating again.
