First time fasting

Well not technically first time be because I used to 16:8 but will be attempting multiple days, I want to go for 3 days. Anyone have any tips for before I start my fast or for after breaking it? Is there a certain way it should be broken? Do you still exercise through it? Do you just drink water?

You can eat anything after 3 days. I usually break my 5 day fasts with alcohol and any food I want, never had issues. Currently on a 26 day fast, in that case it’s necessary to be very careful. Up to 5 days you can go crazy with food, but you need the bathroom nearby.

For three days, for the most part I find it normally safe for me to break the fast with anything. However if you’re concerned about having energy and the proper nutrients during this fast you could always take electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and magnesium. Though I personally don’t require these things during my 3-5 day fasts, this is only if you need an extra blanket of reassurance for safely doing it. Although you can break your fast with anything after 3 days, I’d advise to try to break it with things that are light and healthy starting out, or you’ll have a serious case of the runs for the next few hours.
