Answer

Sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium..

Table salt is OK but ideally you want a carb free rehydration solution so you get them all. You can make your own with bulk supplements (calcium and magnesium easiest to get in pill form, sodium and potassium citrate in powder) or use one of the numerous pre-made versions. Most don’t have much or any calcium and magnesium so consider dosing that separately anyway, after checking the label.

I had the same experience for the first week or so of IF. It gets better. IDK the science behind why, but your body adjusts. I found drinking some herbal tea and having a couple of slices of apple helped me with nausea.

Im 2months in so far and down 18lbs.

Just to get a whole picture, what’s your fasting schedule like? What did you eat yesterday? Also was 2 eggs, a cucumber, and a bowl of soup all you were planning on eating in one day? You should still generally be aiming to get 1,200 calories minimum.

Answer

TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! If fasting is causing these issues for you you should make sure it’s safe for you to go forward with this plan with a medical professional. Idk if anyone in this thread is a doctor, I’m certainly not.

What is your dating regiment? I noticed you mentioned eating eggs and cucumber in the morning, then eating soup at night, typically someone intermittent fasting would be eating during one timeframe or the other. I definitely second the electrolytes and hydration, most people are used to being functionally dehydrated.
