First time starting IF

I’m going to start IF for the first time and have googled my big butt (soon hopefully a bit smaller) off, but now I’m feeling overwhelmed and confused.

Does anyone have any good tips on how to start, recommendations on books on IF, sites/books with healthy easy recipes (I don’t eat red meat) etc.?

Due to back problems I currently can’t work out, but my goal is to start with that as soon as I’m cleared to.

Answer

I like Fast, Feast, Repeat by Gin Stephens (I got the audiobook). It focuses on IF as a lifestyle, and lays out the various plans. No recipes or meal plans included.

check out Thomas DeLauer’s YouTube channel. he has great info on there. Personally, I started IF last April and am down 42 pounds. I started out skipping breakfast (which I did most of the time anyway and eat between noon -8pm. I had to learn to drink black coffee. its important to keep calorie free during your fasting period. there are apps you can find that can help you track your fasts and some offer calorie integration. I would suggest if you are just starting, to go with 16:8 and figure out a window that will work for you and see how you feel. Good luck. You CAN do this.
