First Time Water Fast.

Hey guys, I am planning to start a water fast the day after Christmas.

I heard that Pink Himalayan salt, Electrolytes and Apple Cider Vinegar are good to take while water fasting.

Any thoughts on that? How much to consume, how often?

If there are websites or posts you can share that have good tips on the process I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

I did a 25 day water fast from 220lbs to 175lbs. Pure water with nothing else. Ended the fast with light fruits for 2 weeks before slowly going into a normal diet. 7 months later I’ve gained only 10 of those pounds back. Re doing another water fast 2ish weeks same way as before

Himalayan sea salt in small quantities is healthy during a fast. Small = no more than teaspoon per day and you need to drink plenty of water (teaspoon should be divided out not taken all at once.

I personally drank bone broth during my extended fasts when I felt poorly (flu like symptoms). If you feel fine then there’s no need to supplement.

Pickle juice would be better than apple cider vinegar if you’re just trying to get flavor, it has a ton of electrolytes.

Usually the rule with a water fast is nothing but water but I’m personally not as strict. I drink black coffee while fasting and put salt in the grounds before brewing. I also take a ZMA supplement (zinc magnesium and something else, I can’t remember).

Was planning on going for a couple of days myself. First fast. When your wife gets you a body composition scale and food scale for Christmas, it’s time to make some changes. (She’s German, so this is a normal way to communicate.)
