Fishy smell?

I am unsure if my ingredients are the issue or what. When I started the snake juice diet originally back in January and I had just got over covid (December 23rth) so my smell and taste weren’t really a thing. I don’t know if it’s because the smell/taste buds are fully recovered or not. I am just now noticing this or is this normal? I just remember it tasting like mildly salty water. But, this mixture I just made has a very fishy smell and taste to it. May be a really dumb question but I figured I’d ask around.

PS: I started at 356 and I’m at 315. Longest fast was 5 days no problem, for a month or so now I’ve been doing low carb OMAD. Still losing the weight, just a lot slower.

Answer

I had the same thing. In my case it was the baking soda. I switched to bobs red mill, didn’t have issues then. I think it’s that the bulk baking soda sits out somewhere in some batches, and one of its characteristics is odor absorption.
