Answer

Hi. Okay; so you started at a BMI of 37.3 and trimmed down to 24.7. Excellent!

If you’re eating a ketogenic diet, then calorie restriction shouldn’t slow down your metabolism. On a ketogenic diet, blood insulin levels are low. Therefore, when your body needs extra energy, it can simply burn extra body fat.

So I think your metabolism is probably doing fine. But I’m not a doctor, and I don’t know for sure.

I think it’s possible to measure your metabolism.

A) How many grams of carbohydrates do you eat per day?

B) Longer fasting will get you quicker results. Why are you reluctant to try longer fasting?

Please note that longer fasting may cause you to lose a limited amount of muscle mass. (Source: a comment by /u/TitusPullo7.)

Maybe you didn’t eat enough calories in general during your weight loss. One of the biggest mistakes people make on keto is still trying to actively avoiding fat. This is results in caloric restriction that is too large which ultimately results in the slowing of metabolism.

If your protein sources were low fat like chicken or chicken breast, white fish, then more than likely your metabolism had slowed down. The only way that’s going to be fixed is by drastically increasing your caloric consumption.

I would do a 48 to 72 hour water fast to reset things and then go back to keto. I don’t know what effect OMAD has on the metabolism, I need to read up on that because that’s kind of what I am doing now.
