Fluctuations in Urine Color on Hard Dry Fasts

* Hello all, this is my second long-term dry fast. I am on day two of a hard dry fast and have been noticing some similarities in my other dry fast that I find interesting. I am seeing my urine color fluctuate every time I piss. It started clear, then got yellowish, clear again, yellow again. Just peed again and while it wasn't totally clear, it definitely wasn't very yellow. I'm guessing this is my body just pulling water from fat and other cells to re-hydrate my body. Wondering if you all have experienced something similar and what your thoughts are. Also bonus, I went on a five day hike in the harsh and cold Smoky Mountains about a month ago and sprained my groin and did something to my right knee on the hike. It has been giving me hell for the past month. I currently feel ZERO pain in my groin even when I get in positions where it usually would hurt and my knee is giving me no troubles at all either. Feeling pretty good. This one is a lot harder than my last dry fast but that one was soft. Keep pushin' everybody.

Answer

The whole reason I’m doing dry fast this time around is for my knee, its definitely getting better which is a big improvement over the last 2 months. I’m only doing alternate days but will push it longer soon. My urine has been a consistent yellow.

Oh and I got my sense of smell back which I lost with covid. Only problem is I can now smell how funky my room is.

Answer

The more carbs i eat before starting a dry fast the darker the pee is. Most bacteria living off of the carbs in my blood are dead by the end of day 2, they produce and contain alot of what makes your pee yellow/brownish. Although it is very individual and we might have completely different microbiomes. The Phoenix protocol by August Dunning goes into urine color when dryfasting for a little bit.
