I’ve had some pretty serious depressive episodes and, at least this last one, fasting has helped me break through. YMMV, obviously, but when I’m dragging myself out of a pit having an attainable goal (like don’t do something for 18 hours) feels like a step up. Even if I’ve done nothing that day, the act of doing nothing is still an accomplishment for fasting.
Wish you well, darling. It’s a real struggle sometimes and year end anxieties certainly don’t help anything.
Starving is not the same as fasting, and fasting is not the same as fasting.
I have struggled with depression and fasting actually helped me, but that is not the case for everyone. Please practice safe fasting. If you feel you are starving then cease your fast get some help.
