Fruits and Ketogenic diet.

During a well maintained nutritional ketosis, how much of a negative impact fruits/fructose cause to the body? Obviously body gets kicked out of ketosis immediately, but what is the process and is there any damage to lean muscle tissue while switching between fructose to ketones?

Far too many unknowns to hazard an answer to this…

Answer

You are on a ketogenic diet. What is it about fruits (and hopefully whole fruits, not juice or syrup beverages) that makes you ask this question? 20g of carbs is the general number you can have, though some say 50g is acceptable. Extremists don’t eat any plant matter and get no grams, but that’s a very bad idea for overall longevity.

I’m not sure where you read that ketosis ends immediately after consuming fruit. Could you show me where you found that so I get the idea of where you’re coming from?
