is it better for overall health to eat nonfat varieties plus added fats OR full fat (without fat added)?
how about for weight loss? have studies shown that those eating the full fat or nonfat varieties maintain their weight over time?
I would say full fat. I can’t find it right now but there was a multi-year long research done on this and it was found that countries that sell products that remove fat from their products have a population that has higher risk to cardiovascular diseases.
Ppl forgot that healthy fats are important for the heart and brain.
Sure, if you are looking purely at calories, fat contains more calorie compared to protein, but health isn’t purely measured in calorie count.
You need fat and dairy is an important food group. There’s recent evidence that fat’s from fermented dairy like yogurt and cheese are better for you than butter (or presumably whole milk).

‘In contrast, there were differences in CHD risk when food sources of SFAs were considered, with a lower CHD incidence with consumption of SFAs from fermented dairy products (yogurt and cheese) and fish, but a higher CHD incidence with consumption of SFAs from red meat and butter.’
Nonfat/full fat what? Dairy products? I always go for full fat for yogurt and milk because I eat nearly all whole foods and exercise a lot and need the extra calories. Someone who is focused on weight loss may opt for the nonfat/low-fat versions, there’s nothing wrong with them.
Diet foods and 99% of the diet industry is formulated to make people fail. 95% recidivism proves this. Yes I refer to them like prisoners. Do not set weight loss goals. Develop a health improvement system to live by. Add muscle and increase cardio performance to increase metabolic rate. Enjoy normal fat levels in healthy foods. Your health is not your weight.
