I went through the same thing. Lost 50lbs. Lost my mom and gained it all back. I am now down 25 again with 25 more to go. I found the second time around to be easier to initially start the fasting but harder to maintain for the long haul. Because I had done it before, I had a slight over confidence and stalled midway. For me, it has to be strict no after dinner eating and little to no alcohol. Much of the time, the two go hand in hand. Calorie counting in the short term can also be eye opening. I don’t think it’s sustainable or enjoyable to do very long, but just doing it for a week can be very beneficial. I know in general how many calories are in things, but it’s amazing how they can add up. All the best.
The dietary reason people get overweight like that is from eating too much sugar and starch, period.
If you want to correct your problem then you need to eat less of those things.
For some people, it’s easy to just manage to have a little bit here and there, occasionally, socially, etc.
For most people with weight issues, the fact is that they’re unable to successfully moderate their intake of sugar and starch (not because of willpower, per se, but because sugar and starch act in your brain the exact same way cocaine and alcohol do – they’re extremely addictive!), so it ends up being easier for them in the long run to just completely abstain from sugar and starch altogether.
Take some time and be real with yourself, and find out if you’re a moderator or an abstainer.
Try easing into it with a 13:11 for a few weeks and then increasing the hours. Slow loss is a reality. I didn’t lose any for a few weeks. Guess it was my body doing a cleanup in prep. Now losing steadily 1 lb a week
