Gained weight??

Completed a 36 hour fast & I lost 2.1 lbs & BMI was down…I ate a meal with very little carbs then began a 20 hour fast ( OMAD) I get on the scale the next morning & my Weight & BMI is back up to where it was. I even worked out in a fasted state both days.

I am supplementing with L Tyrosine & I wonder if this is causing the weight gain. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

A gain of a few pounds after a meal and only 20 hours seems pretty normal to me. There’s also the water you drink. Just gotta focus on the long-term results, because a day or two isn’t ever going to be encouraging.

So I did not lose a pound the entire month of January. I was extremely frustrated as I was still fasting, doing OMAD, staying at a certain calorie limit. The scale DID NOT MOVE. I only weigh myself once a month at the last day of the month so I don’t get too worked up. But on January 31 when I saw the number hadn’t moved and was the same number it was on December 31- I wanted to cry. However- I lost inches. My waist, arms and legs were smaller. Try not to focus tooo much on the number on the scale. I know it sucks tho!

Thank you for the replies. I know weight fluctuates up to 5lb day to day but was alarmed by the BMI but I suppose this must be part of that fluctuation. I am not going to weigh myself for a few days then see where I’m at. Thanks guys

Answer

As long as the monthly trend is down (e.g. the lows keep getting lower) then you are on track. Too many factors change from day to day - e.g body fluid, last time you pooped, how many drinks you had, etc etc for weight loss to be a daily linear trend.
