Hello everyone! I’m a 17 year old male. About half a year ago I got started on antidepressants, these meds make me hungry all the time. Because of this, I gained 12 kg in half a year. Now I’m trying to stabilise, and lose weight again. My parents are very supportive, and have made sure there are alot of healthy alternatives to candy and other foods. However, even with the healthy foods I find myself gaining weight, what’s the cause you might ask?
I can’t stop munching stuff in the evening. This evening I had a bag of peanuts, 200g, I planned on making it so that I eat one handful everyday, because that’s healthy! I, however, managed to munch the full amount of peanuts into nothingness. I honestly couldn’t stop myself, I tried.
During the day I’m usually fine, this truly is something that only occurs in the evenings. I honestly am a little embarrassed to share this whole happening.
I just really hope to get some advice on how to stop this eating habit, it’s really the only thing in the way between me and a healthy weight.
If you’re wondering, I sleep and exercise plenty.
Thanks so much in advance, I really hope some people have had experience with this, and can help me beat this weakness!
Same advice as another reply goes for the last meal too. Lots of protein at dinner time will help. I had steak and eggs for dinner an hour ago - still very full. It also might help to adjust your eating window to compensate too. If you consistently snack in the evenings, maybe do your 16:8 and make your window from 2pm-10pm.
