GERD & Fasting

Hello all I just need some guidance and/or someone that knows more about fasting. I’ve suffered from GERD for 11 years now. My stomach completely sucks I can’t eat a lot of foods being that my stomach is really sensitive. I was on med for it but my primary doctor took me off. I now use tums & pep but it’s an everyday thing. My stomach is constantly in pain I’m bloated, feel really full & can’t really eat & always feel nauseous I sometimes vomit. I went online and briefly saw something about fasting and healing the stomach. I didn’t read the article or anything but I’m just wondering would fasting help heal my stomach enough so I can start with a clean out tummy? Would going on a fast for 3 days with water help heal my tummy? Thank you for whoever comments I’ll much appreciate it.

From my experience doing OMAD and occasional 36 hour fasts my GERD improved dramatically in the first 4 weeks. My meal usually consists of no or very low carbs. I also cut out coffee, processed foods, and sugar. I no longer take antacids several times a day. My guess is if you did an extended fast things would improve but if you reverted to your normal diet after, the symptoms would slowly return. I highly recommend trying, it’s so nice not to constantly be in pain.
