So last year I tried doing fasting, although I mainly was doing IF since I always failed around the second or third day. I’m wondering if you guys have any tips, as this time is after losing 15 pounds, and also I have that past experience under my belt, plus i’m a lot more controlled with my diet, so it should be easier to maintain.
I’m just wondering if there is anything else I should know, since I’m trying to go for about a week, possibly more. I’ve been told you need to take vitamins if you do an extended water fast as well, is this true? And if so, what types should I be looking at? Because afaik the simple gummy vitamins have calories, so I’d be looking for something different.
Also maybe some tips to help get through the rough couple of days. Thanks in advance
Ive done a 2 day fast, 5 day fast, a 7 day fast and an 8 day fast. I’m currently doing a 40 day fast just because I really feel in my faith that I have to. Which is seriously the only thing thats keeping me going.
For me with my 7 and 8 day fasts. I stop eating alot of food like a week prior to the actual fast. So I go from eating 3 times a day with snacks at night, to eating once a day, and I would eat only at night. I did that for a week and then would take the dive to do a along fast. I feel by doing that you adjust your body to get used to not eating, and the hunger pains aren’t as intense because you gave yourself time to pretty much like shrink your stomach and get used to not eating. That’s what helped me get to a week of fasting.
I did that for this forty, I’m on day 7 right now, and experiencing some hunger pains. I didnt get hunger pains till about day 5.
I will say the more fasts you do the easier they get in my experience, and by easy I mean you don’t obsess over it that much, hunger isnt that bad, like the first time hunger and temptations were so bad i just gave in. Also time seems to pass by too. As for vitamins, I never take vitamins. Some people do though.
