Getting back on the wagon?

I lost 50 pounds last year and have gained back 30 this year. I had a really stressful period financially in January and I basically reversed my diet and started snacking on high-carb stuff and not watching calories anymore.

I’d like the motivation to lose those 30 pounds I put on this year. How I did it last year was doing OMAD and popcorn/carrots as a snack. I’m thinking I’d like to go back to doing something like that, at the very least paying attention to calories and not eating over my set amount every day.

I guess it’s just a matter of getting back into it after lapsing for so long, eh? I have trouble finding the motivation as I have a more stressful job now and food is a stress reliever for me.

Answer

I’ve learned that for me it’s easiest to stick with set calories per day if I choose things I know that I enjoy and fill me up, but eat pretty much the same thing each day all week. Then I can do the same with some different food options the next week. Having this week long routine means not having to do so much shopping or planning. It also reduces food waste and makes it easier for me on busy work days!
