Getting full too fast?

The last few days I get really full within my eating window but have only consumed maybe 800-900 calories. And then later in the evening I get ravenously hungry. I’ve been eating protein (at least 70g+) and balancing my meals.

I actually broke my fast last night to honor a hunger cue that was the first time I felt I genuinely needed to eat during a fast (headache, starting to get lightheaded). I knew I hadn’t eaten enough during the day, but I was just felt too full to eat any more by the time my window was closing.

Any clues? Clearly eating less than 1000 calories in that eating window isn’t working for me 🤣 but I also feel so full when my eating window is ending. I’m currently on a 16:8 schedule, some days go for 18:6.

Answer

You’re eating high protein, but what does the rest of your diet look like? If you’re staying low fat and therefore using carbs to meet the rest of your calorie needs, consider switching it up. Protein + fat is insanely satiating. Like, you’ll feel full in the moment while eating regardless if it’s fat or carbs, but the fat keeps you sated longer. I’m always hungry in a couple hours after eating a carb-heavy meal.
