Was curious about the zero calories drinks breaking a fast so I brought a glucose monitor but don’t really understand the science well.
After my 18 hour fast, I measured my glucose and consumed a C4 energy drink (zero cal, sucralose) and measured again at 30/60/240 mins
My glucose was 92 85 82 83 My ketones 0.1, 0.2, 0.2, 0.4
Does the steadiness of the glucose and the rise in ketones indicate this drink does not cause a insulin response in me?
I would say minimal at best, and based on the trajectory, it would almost look like it helps your glucose/ketone levels. However, it’s probably more a case you were on that trajectory regardless, and the beverages just had zero effect. Enjoy
