Going to go ahead and do my planned 48 hr fast despite my cold.

Well, they say “starve a cold.” My appetite is low anyways. I’m going to go ahead and try my planned 2 day fast (from dinner tonight to dinner Friday) and see how it goes. Honestly right now the break from eating sounds good. I’ll still be hydrating with water with electrolytes and lots and lots of tea.

Anyone else fasted while mildly sick? What did it feel like? In previous 42-48 hr fasts I had a lot more energy in that second day; that would sure be a nice change right now.

Don’t discount broth. Chicken, beef, or vegetable, doesn’t matter too much, mince up some carrots, celery, onions, chives, dill, etc. Keep it light but nutritious.

Had a relative pass away from acute Hyponatremia, or sodium deficiency. 44, Doctor, triathlete, gone in his sleep when his heart stopped from the lack of sodium in his system, essentially.

Sodium regulates a lot of bodily functions, so keep that in mind.

Answer

You are setting it up correctly and I do not see how a cold should be of any hindrance.

I did 47:1 all January without a 2nd thought - my first perfect month since starting a year ago.. but since a dropout due to family gatherings last week, I have been struggling to get back in groove. So to me, the first long one after several days of just OMAD, is always very challenging. Its high time though. I will come back here tomorrow and share how it went!
