I want to replace the cheese in an omelette with a non-dairy substitute. Are there any good non dairy replacements for shredded mild cheddar cheese?
You could try nutritional yeast?
It tastes like cheese to me but not super strong. Plus it has the added benefits of B12.
I’ve known people who think it doesn’t really taste like cheese so you’re mileage may vary.
Can I ask why though? Just use light cheese if you’re worried about calorie content, there’s a good amount of protein as well as obviously calcium in cheese, just be wary because sometimes the healthier option isn’t exactly healthier.
