Green tea vs Guarana in content of antioxidant and catechins

Hi there!

I know that green tea and guarana are both superfoods because of their many health benefits.
Both are full of antioxidants and catechins.

I wonder what the difference between the two is in terms of antioxidant and catechin content? Which one has more, or are there different types in one or the other. By this I mean looking at the same amount, for example in 100 mg of extract.

I found articles titled “Guarana Antioxidants Surpass Green Tea”, but I’m curious about the exact details.

What do you think about this comparison?

Thank you in advance!

Answer

The antioxidant hypothesis fell through. As far as I know, no one has been able to demonstrate antioxidants do anything for us.

Green tea does have components that help our health but they are not antioxidants.

I’m not sure about Guarana’s components. But I wouldn’t consider the antioxidants in each as a deciding factor for which one to consume to improve my nutrition.

Answer

Green tea is crap. Matcha is where it’s at! Matcha contains 137x more catechins than green tea! If you want maximum antioxidants, look into a supplement called Astaxanthin. It has more antioxidants than nearly anything else on earth. While blueberries antioxidant value is 6,000 , Astaxanthins is nearly 3 million. Lots of amazing benefits. Including anti aging. It can be used topically too. Which I do. Too many benefits to list
