Gums in better condition after fasting

Hi all,

I’ve been fasting for the better part of the year. My last two dentist visits have shown significant improvement in the condition of my gums. I told my dentist that I’ve been fasting so I think it’s been helping with giving my teeth and gums time to rest and regenerate since I’m not constantly eating like I used to. Has anyone else’s dentists commented about the condition of their mouths after fasting?

Answer

Cant comment on dentists opinions but having basically no plaque build up was really eye opening on my last week long fast. Gut bacteria cant survive without food, so it makes sense some of the bacteria in the mouth would be the same.
