Has anybody had experience fasting with pre-diabetes?

Interested in how other pre-diabetics feel while fasting and what kind of results they’ve seen. Personally, I combine IF with a low carb Mediterranean diet. I’ve been eating horribly for months now, so I decided to check my fasting blood glucose levels. To my ‘shock’ I was at 127, so I decided to get my ass in gear. The next morning after starting the diet my fasting glucose was 133. The third day was 103, and the fourth day (today) was 109. I fully expect (from past experiences) for my fasting glucose levels to get back to normal levels within 4 weeks. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Answer

Yes, Dr. Jason Fung is the man on this question. I was prediabetic, went hard keto at less than 20g carbs per day for six months and now maintain at about 35g carbs per day. Reversed my prediabetes for almost five years. I also do OMAD fasting for past 4.5 years and extended water fasting quarterly. All biomarkers were improved by changing the timing and content of my food intake.
