has anybody had results with a 9 or 10 hour eating window?

Looking to try IF as a way to lose a little added pandemic weight, nip some bad snacking habits in the bud, and generally feel a lot better and healthier overall. However, I’m up very early, work shifts, and do long days. An 8 or less hour window wouldn’t really work for me with the times I’d get to eat. Has anyone had much success with a slightly larger window? Id be going from currently eating a lot of smaller meals throughout the day in about a 14 or 15 hour window, and I’m looking to lose around 10lbs to 15lbs steadily. Thanks!

Also looking for an answer to this question! I’ve been trying 16:8 for a week or 2 and it’s just not matching up with my schedule at all with uni/work/hobbies/my partner’s schedule.

I’m wondering if a 15:9 fast would still have benefits!

Answer

Anything can work depending on your calorie input, but at a certain point you’re not really doing IF. But if it works for you that’s what’s really important. There’s some debate, but a lot of people consider IF to be a minimum of 16/8. For the poster that asked about 15/9, sure and it’s just going to come down to eating behavior/calories in that 9.
