I used to have so much cellulite on my thighs and arms that I wanted to cover up all the time. After I started intermittent fasting just a few months ago, all cellulite on my arms has disappeared and the parts on my thighs have reduced greatly. I’ve never heard that IF would combat cellulite but I haven’t changed anything else the past few months, so I don’t know what else it could be.
I read the other day cellulite exists because of fat cells that develop as you gain weight from growing older. It’s impossible to make the fat cells go away but you can reduce the amount of fat they store. Building muscle will also reduce the appearance but once again, if the fat is there you’ll see it. I’ve noticed quite a reduction in cellulite because my thighs have reduced around 3 inches, but it hasn’t gone away entirely of course.
One thing that has been interesting is I developed sort of a weird fat cell in one particular area when I was young. It sort of sat on the side of my thigh and bulged out. More fat grew around it when I gained weight and covered it up, but now I can see it again. In a way, I feel affectionate about it being back?? It’s so comforting to see my body returning back to what it was when I was younger.
I’ve always felt cellulite was caused by the skin getting thinner, at least in part. Fasting is supposed to give the body an over all boost. Thicker skin, less fat, less insulin, DNA repair. Why wouldn’t it help with cellulite? Increase your fasts and you might lose it completely XD
