Has anyone here fasted for fibromyalgia or general body pain?

I endure dull to sharp throbbing widespread pain every day. I’m very sick of it. Does anyone have experience fasting to alleviate body pain? How long did you fast before feeling a difference?

I was originally going to fast solely for weight loss purposes, but now I’m wondering if it helps with body pain.

I have lupus and deal with chronic joint and muscle pain. Fasting was an absolute game changer for me. Not only does fasting ease the pain, I generally find that the pain disappears completely around 48 hours in, and as an added bonus, my migraines go away too. It’s been worth any and all discomfort that fasting might bring to just have a few good days where I feel okay!

The two things that have largely alleviated my fibro-mylagic pain (mostly my back, neck and spine were affected) have been hatha yoga & fasting-in that order of help. Also re-wiring the brain out of hyper-aroused nervous system states (from complex PTSD). HTHY! :)

I fast because of CFS. It helps a lot of symptoms (pain included) and gives me a nice improvement in quality of life. Nothing “goes away” but lots of things reduce in severity. It took a few rounds to get to the point where I was comfortable during the entire fast, though

In my opinion, start with a day and work up from there. Let your body adapt over multiple, shorter fasts. You might find little improvements make a big difference, too. In my case, I had no intention of ever doing OMAD/intermittent fasting but it quickly became obvious that not eating was offering a big boon. So now I do OMAD AND regular extended fasts as well as regular carb restriction. The all helped a lot

I don’t know your body type so I’m only speaking from my own experience. I have sever back knee and muscle pain/spasms. I’ve gone as long as 4 days multiple times and I felt amazing afterwards. I’m a more muscular/athletic built guy but idk if that plays any role in it. There’s also the factor of taking in a lot of water which is a benefit to the body as long as one does not overdo it and prepared the body for a lack of sodium and electrolytes.

Good luck

Fasting absolutely helps regenerate the body. What also helps me is to cut out not only gluten sugar and reduce dairy intake but also stay away from artificial sweeteners (Stevia) and vegetables in the nightshade family. The neurotoxins in these foods put my Central Nervous System in full on attack mode. Epsom salt baths help and Magnesium. Standard process makes a product called MinTran that works well. Good luck

I have lupus and once was on a ton of pills. I am 26 now and also had allergies so was on Allegra 24 hour since I was 12 every day. I was able to stop my other pills but the Allegra felt impossible - If I didn’t take it every day, my skin would burn, my throat would swell, and I stopped breathing easily. I fasted for a few days and started OMAD Jan 2021 and have been off of it since. It’s a game changer for me, so grateful for fasting
