I took up ‘IF’ with eating window of 8 hours to test waters. I could only eat two proper meals and a latte in between. There was no space left in between for snacks or casual eating which is good. However I was wondering if I would feel ‘weak’ if I continue IF. I have not been exercising but soon I will be going for weight lifting on weekdays and HIIT on weekends. I am not sure that eating for 8 hours ( and subsequently for 6 hours) can help sustaining intense workouts. I am afraid of running out of fuel and not showing up for exercise at all. What has been your experience with IF and exercise?
I workout fasted most of the time. High intensity intervals and also low intesity intervals.I’d say go slow and listen to your body. Watch electrolyte intake and build up your own experience, because everyone is different, so we can’t say for sure how you’ll feel.
Be careful not to push yourself to hard. went a bit OTT before xmas and started to get v light headed, esp when standing up too soon. fell over once which was a warning to dial it down a notch. nb - make sure you’re getting enough electrolytes if fasting/HIIT.
