Headaches while dry fasting

So I’m getting ready to do another one, I failed the last one after about 51hrs.

Is it normal to feel a constant lingering headache while dry fasting? Maybe it was caffeine withdrawals or something

Also two, I had extreme nausea after about 40hours, and i eventually just kept puking, I’m thinking maybe it was related to sinus drips (but i thought dry fasting would help with polyup inflammation). But I could also see how the lack of water could dry out nasal cavities negatively as well. Would it be a bad idea to do salt saline rinses during my next fast?

I’ve been prepping for this fast like crazy as far as food consumption I’m sitting at a little over 180lb as far as weight now, precious fast i started at 170 and fell to 160, so up 20 pounds, i would really like to make it 3-5 days if possible but the nausea and headaches were so bad.

Anyone else have this problem or maybe some sort of trick to fix it

Answer

i have been fasting for 10 years. i have been dry fasting for almost 4 years. read up on electrolyte deficiencies. cannabis can help for ppl that can withstand its effects while in control. it’s not recommend for most people tho.

having parts of 1/8 tsp of salt might help with the nausea. or you could be in dangerous low levels of some other electrolyte. the nausea is a sign before fainting. take time off from df before you jump in again and next time have some salt throughout your fast. the water fasting thread has a pinned message for the importance of electrolyte intake
