i keep trying to do a 5 day soft dry fast but i usually cave in near the end of day 2 because the headaches suck so much. should i just cut it down to 3 days and slowly work my way up to be used to it enough to do 5 days?
I would work your way up. Try to ease up on the carbs in between fasts too, you might be experiencing keto flu. Also, do you drink coffee? That can cause major headaches when abstaining for a couple of days.
What’s your preparation like? That could be your key to a better fast. Are you following a particular protocol, eg, Dr Filonov’s in this book?
