Help regarding taking medicine during OMAD

I’m fasting (OMAD) consistently for the last 3 or so months. I lost some pretty weight but now I have a back injury and doctor recommended some medicine which I need to take in morning and evening after meal.

Here are my few concerns about which I need guidance from you:

1- Should I stop my OMAD protocol for a few days? (Because I need to take a meal before taking the meds) 2- If I stop, how can I still maintain my current weight without it? 3- Once I’ve recovered, how hard will it be to get back on OMAD protocol? 4- Are there any other things that I should know?

Thank you in advance!

You’re not going to gain any actual fat back unless you overeat. You will gain a few pounds back in water weight when you eat morning/evening or throughout day but your body will quickly kick the water back out once you start OMAD again.

Zinc pills make me nearly vomit on empty belly, but 2 tablespoons of unsweetened pure cocoa powder in a cup of boiling water, is enough of a ‘meal’ to completely nullify that side effect. I would do something along these lines in the morning if I had to take meds.

If those are pain meds, you could consider toughing it out during the day and only take the evening dose to ensure sleep. Depending on severity obviously.

Getting back to OMAD is not very hard imo, using the carb-restricting trick.

Yes,

For a few days? It really doesn’t matter - it’s 3 days - how many calories would you likely eat over three days having two meals a day instead of one meal a day? But if you must, you can calculate your daily maintenance calories and calorie count for a few days.
