Help with electrolyte math and chloride

I’ve read the wiki on electrolytes and I’m using the recommended amount to plan when/what I take.

My plan has me taking a 1/4 tsp of table salt 7 times a day for 3.8 grams of sodium.

6 tsp of nusalt a day for 3.8 grams of potassium

375 mg of magnesium in pill form.

Does this look about right and do you think my sodium may be too low still?

Also do you think there is a possibility of getting a dangerous amount of Chloride from the table and nu salt together?

Thanks!

Answer

If Nu-Salt is the same as No-Salt, you may want to recheck your math. No-Salt is 640 mg (0.64 g) per 0.25 tsp. So you want (3.8/0.64) x 0.25 = about 1.5 tsp. 6 tsp will be way too much. (It looks like you took 3.8/0.64 to get 6, but forgot to multiply by 0.25.)
