Help with the final few?

Hi, looking for your advice :) I’ve been using Dr. Fung’s obesity code approach for the last month to try to help me break through the final few pounds of fat I’ve been hoping to lose (currently 112 lbs, 5’2, aiming for about 105.) I’ve been following the protocol of doing 24 hour fasts 2-3 times per week (on alternating days) and following his guidelines on food and sleep. I have keto blood stick strips from my past keto life and can tell that on fasting days I’m getting into .8-2mm zones, so definitely in nutritional keto sis. I lift weights in the gym 2 times per week and then am generally pretty active just for fun, usually running or workout classes 2 or 3 other times a week. Since I started, I’ve gained 3 pounds! This is a mystery to me. It could be muscle but it doesn’t feel like it is. I definitely am eating a lot in the evenings when I break my fast but only until I’m full. I am wondering if anyone else has experience using this method at the lower end of their weight threshold, or has advice on how to navigate from here? Thank you!

Hey! I found I plateau with the 24 hour fasts (one meal a day) and sometimes doing a longer fast like 36 or 48 would help kickstart me. Also, your body adapts quickly, so variety may help. On diet doctor, Dr. Fung mentions the following:

If you do, for example, one meal a day (OMAD) or a roughly 23 hour fast daily, you may do very well. In that case, continue. On the other hand, we see many people start to stall at a weight higher than they like. In that case, it is good to shake things up a little, to keep your body from adapting too much to this. Try alternating longer and shorter fasts, for example.

I was stalled for a few weeks and ended up switching it all up 2 weeks back. Upped my calories from 1200-1400( though ive never reached that yet), added a snack of hard boiled eggs or a protein bar alternate days, and ramped up walking and water. Dropped 4 pounds this past week. My TDEE was dropping and I think my body was trying to save me from any more weight loss. You have to switch it up.
