I broke my really good water fast about 6 days and 12 hours in (1st attempt) yesterday.
I was hanging out with some friends, and we went to this pizza joint, i’ve been there on day three and day four so i thought i could keep my wits. But when the guys were eating, i mindlessly went up to the counter an got a slice, then I stupidly got a soda after since we were there for a while, and I instantaneously thought ‘screw it i messed up already’. then came back home, was not really hungry and ate ice cream anyway while watching netflix.
I woke up this morning, and I felt lightheadedness coming and going in phases, and when I took a dump. I feel a little out of it and I feel like shit, both physiologically and mentally, in all possible way really.
So I come to you good people of this forum, with my head down, and a little pale; :
->I was wondering if I screwed up my health big time because of this.
-> after a period of self pity, I’m ready to get back into the grind, how do I proceed??
On the bright side, it looks like i lost 12 pounds, and gained back 2 or three. But I’m more so worried about my overall health, and whether I screwed it up big time cause I feel somewhat weak, but not too weak.
Thanks for reading this
To answer the question whether you have screwed up your health by eating a bit of pizza and ice cream after 6 and a half days of fasting? Of course not, don’t be silly. You are feeling guilty for a momentary lapse but be careful about the mindset you are adopting towards food and fasting. Eating is not bad for you! Dont rush back into it, you’ll feel fine soon.
6 1/2 days is not screwing up. You did really good, ofcourse it’s better to break a fast with light food but you have to give yourself credit. This mistake will help you in the future to know your triggers.
Congrats on 6 days! I was only able to make it to 4 until I had to cave in for a slice of pizza. I’m guessing you feel like crap because the first thing you introduced to your body after 6 days was pizza and soda instead of something lighter. You’ll be fine though!
