Answer

If you are trying to restrict calories or are not active, you basically need to sacrifice something.

You could have a balance of course, but certain macros are more important to certain people depending on what they’re doing.

If I want to feel full I’m going to cut down carbs and choose high fat and high protein, etc.

We all need a minimum of each ideally.

Answer

Plenty of literature on diets where calories are split roughly equally between the macros. Assuming totals kcals are in the right place and you tolerate the diet well, it’s totally fine.

You above the recommended 10% of kcals from saturated fat. Whether to worry about that or not is up to you, but I would at least make an informed opinion on it.

Answer

200 protein, 250 carbs & 120 fat isn’t particularly high anything. That’s around 2,900 cals, and roughly isocaloric - it works out around 28/35/37.

If that split works for you, go for it. Personally I would up the carbs, but I’m a carb burner.

Answer

If you need a lot of calories to maintain your weight, then there’s no problem eating a lot of each macro as long as it’s from nutrient dense unrefined foods, a balance of al 3 macros is the healthiest thing as it allows for tge greatest variety. I eat roughly 380-420g carb give or take, 85-120g fat and 180-230g of protein a day to maintain my weight, focus on quality macro sources and eat the right amount of calories and theres nothing to worry about.
Although I would recommend replacing some of the saturated fat in your diet with unsaturated fat like fish, nuts, or evoo or complex unrefined carbs like beans and high fiber wholegrains.

Answer

You are eating moderate protein/carbs and fat, at roughly equal parts as based on calorie percentage. This was a fad back in the 90’s called the ZONE diet which is very similiar to your breakdown.

Personally I like moderate everything myself as well. You have enough carbs to fuel high intensity workouts, plenty of protein to maintain build muscle and enough fat to keep you from going crazy.

Answer

>I’m currently eating ~200g protein, ~250g carbs, ~120g fat, with about 40% being saturated.

That’s a high protein, high fat, low carb diet. It’s also very high in saturated fat

Minimum carbs should be 45% of calories, maximum fat should be 35% of calories, maximum saturated fat should be 10% of calories but lower is better

Answer

To put it simply: Protein=builds and maintains muscle, Fat=maintains hormones, Carbs=provides short-term energy. Basically, you want to make sure you get enough fat so your hormones are doing fine, but not more, and then as much protein as possible, with the rest of your calories being filled by carbs. If you have low energy you might want to increase the amount of carbs.

Answer

I think when people talk about high carb or low carb diet, or any high and low diet, they are talking about the percentage of calories consumed through a certain macronutrient rather than the total calories you are consuming.

The three macronutrients add up to 100% so you cannot have a high in everything diet. For example, if the percentage of carbs and protein are higher than a traditional balanced diet, then you have a low fat diet.

Answer

You can’t do high all three. It’s about ratios. The best you could do is 33.33% for each, which means high nothing. This diet will make you look like shit. Pick high in two macros depending on goal. It’s just simple math

Answer

> Is there a problem with eating high protein, high fat, and high carbs?

Yeah. Calories.

“High everything” is also very high calories, since macros have calories. So if you eat high everything you’re going to become obese, which… I hope I don’t need to explain in detail why that’s bad.
