High morning blood glucose

I have been doing. Omad keto for 6 weeks due to being obese -bmi 33-and metabolic syndrome. I take metformin and my ha1c was 5.9 befire starting the program. Her is the dilemma. My morning fasting bg ia usually 110 to 125 and ketones 0.3 to 0.5. Later in the day it will be bg 86 to 97 and ketones .6 to .. 8 My diet is clean 5/20/75. I have lost some weight and rarely feel hungry but I am concerned about the high levels after fasting. Any ideas? Oh, I eat at 4pm and I am 62/F. Thanks

I’ve read that Hba1c readings generally are lower than what glucose readings indicate. Preceeding info not found in link provided.

Answer

I’m not a doctor, but I’m also not worried about your high morning blood sugars.

Some unrelated thoughts:

If you ate your single meal earlier in the day, I think you might see quicker weight loss. Noon would be good, but 8 a.m. would be ideal.

Also, one meal a day is good, but I feel that a different fasting protocol could help you to reverse your metabolic syndrome more quickly.
