Hit hard on the gym

Can you weigh lifting hard doing 72 or 48? Won’t this delay building muscle or weight loss? I have about 10kg to drop and every time I tried fasting for longer than omad I felt miserable on the gym, last 72 dry I couldn’t even go for a walk, was feeling totally trash.

Answer

Make sure you’re getting enough water and enough salts. (Sodium, potassium, magnesium).

I wouldn’t necessarily try to ‘hit hard’ but you shouldn’t have an issue doing lighter workouts.

Also dry fasts don’t generally add any benefits over water fasts. Please drink water. If you feel like shit it’s going to be

  1. Because you’re hungry (no shit you’re fasting)

  2. Because you’re dehydrated

  3. Because you need your salts.

Of course there could be other reasons that I don’t know about but I think those are the most likely.

Make sure you’re getting plenty of nutrients when you eat

Answer

Keep up some light exercise that way you don’t lose your routine throughout the fast and get complacent but don’t over due yourself as you will have less readily available energy. Even if you’re not “Hitting Hard” Don’t think that you’ll lose muscle mass as it will possibly only drop by 5-10% which you’ll be able to easily gain back whereas if you exercise too much and create the micro tears that you normally do but your body wont have the protein to build them and you then risk more serious damage than if you just sat around.
