Holiday is over, moving forward

Hopped on the scale this evening to assess the damage from the past couple of days. My body was already telling me all I really needed to know but I was a glutton for punishment. Yep, sure enough, went the wrong direction in a significant way. But tomorrow is a new day. Happy holidays everyone, now let’s get back to it!

Remember that you would need to eat 3500 calories above your TDEE to gain one pound of fat. It’s highly unlikely you truly ate that much over the holiday. So the vast majority of that “weight gain” is water, not fat. You’ll pee it right back out when you go back to your normal IF schedule and healthy eating. Don’t beat yourself up.

Answer

Same! Some of it is my body holding on to water because I ate so many carbs. It’s a planned break for me until New Years, so I wish I hadn’t checked! I do find taking breaks makes things sustainable, which helps in the long run. I hope you can feel okay about your choice to enjoy a holiday. You will get back on track!

I’m back on the fasting train as off 5 pm yesterday. We got this fam. Its great to enjoy these times with family as they don’t come often. It’s important to just hop back on the horse as soon as you can. Looking forward to a successful year ahead with all of you!

A lot of high carb and high salt food makes the number even worse. I’m not going on the scale yet, but I’m 14 hrs into my fast and I’m not sure how long it will be. I’m tired of eating and my stomach needs some rest. So at least 40 hrs, but I’m considering going 60+ hrs.

Answer

Yeah, I’ve been on the wrong path for awhile too. At least you caught it after a few days. I’ve been on a downward spiral since Halloween lol. Just got to get back into it and keep strong. Got to get through those holidays!
