Hormone question for anyone who has gotten pregnant since starting fasting

Hello. Little backstory: I am a few pounds away from obese and I have a history of early pregnancy loss.

I was just wondering if anyone has found fasting balanced their hormones enough to help them get (and stay) pregnant?

Any help is appreciated.

edit just to be clear, fasting would be stopped in the 2 week wait, and not resumed unless I’m 100% not pregnant.

Answer

Absolutely. High testosterone and obesity is a heavyweight contributor to pregnancy issues, so resolving those will absolutely help. Insulin resistance funks with various hormone production centers which can lead to higher T in women, and the opposite for men. If you fast a lot, it should help your insulin resistance and weight, which will increase your odds of successful pregnancies.

Answer

I’m sorry for your losses. I know that must be painful for you.

From what I understand, most often early pregnancy loss is due to a non viable fetus. Like something wrong with the chromosomes. Your body recognizes that it is not a good investment in energy because it’s just not survivable. In this way, it’s a good thing so you can try again.

That said you will increase fertility at a better weight and healthier you will set your baby up to be healthy too. So in this way I think fasting will be a very good thing.
