How about two meals a day without counting the hours fasted

I’ve been doing 16 hour fasts without paying attention to how many hours I’m eating (ie not caring about the 8, and eating throughout the 8).

I use the Zero app which is great for tracking.

After discovering Dr Fung this morning I’ve been rethinking the routine.

Wouldn’t it simplify life by just eating two meals a day. Be it breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner.

Then no apps, nothing to track other than making sure the two meals are quality food and that as soon as the meals are over, skip dessert and start fasting.

This might result in less hours between meal one and two or less hours overnight, but wouldn’t that simple approach make it easier to keep long term and achieve 90% of the results?

Has anyone tried this?

Answer

This is exactly what I do. No apps. Eat real food and only when hungry (usually in the late afternoon or evening. Keep carbs low - if eating real food it’s simple. My body has naturally gravitated to 20:4 fasting regimen.
