How do I do a 14 day fast?

(M/20) So, I’ve done intermittent fast before and even managed a 3-day fast once. How do I go about a 14 day fast? Is it unsafe? If I’m so energy zapped I can’t get out of bed (luckily staying in bed is a luxury I can temporarily afford), will I still lose weight? How do I reseed? etc.

I have a lot of questions and I’m hoping to do this fast to quickly shed some pounds before I go abroad in a few weeks.

You will still lose wight even in a coma if you are not taking in any calories, let alone with exercise.

Though if you are new to this, take things one step at a time. Trying to go for an extended fast right off the bat is a recipe for disaster. How about try OMAD, 16-8, or some other less extreme method for awhile then build up to to. Fasting is a skill, and it requires practice to get good at it.

Answer

Keep up on electrolytes and water consumption. If you really feel terrible of course quit, you can always start over another time. I have found that being active in moderation helps me to keep going instead of laying around and thinking about the fat and food.

I believe a good guideline to keep in mind (not a doctor) is that anything over 7 days, you should consult a doctor. Some would say even less. Be careful with your health and don’t take it for granted.

I advise you look into rolling fasts or alternate day fasting. You’ll be able to lose quite a bit of weight and quickly but a bit more sustainably than 14 days straight. Also, “dirty” fasts can be useful for purposes of weight loss only - bone broth, coffee with cream, etc.
