I’ve personally found baking soda to be easier to drink. Also as you long fast you start to crave the salt so it then doesn’t taste as bad

My go to is 1ltr of water, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp potassium chloride, 1/4 tsp magnesium citrate

My approach has been to have large grain sea salt as my sodium supplement and just take it and swallow it down. Because it’s large grain, it’s not as nauseating as taking fine grain/normal table salt. The one drawback, is it’s not iodized, but I am taking a daily multivitamin that contains 100% of RDA of Iodine, so I don’t need it to be. I know some people recommend to not take all of the salt at one time as it can act as a laxative and have you running to the bathroom, but I find even when I take my Magnesium Oxide (laxative), Potassium, B Complex multi, and regular multivitamin along with my sea salt - I am able to manage for at least 2-3 hours before I have to hit the bathroom. Your mileage may vary, but I figure 2-3 hours is enough time to get the necessary absorption and I typically have good energy levels throughout the day.

I agree though, I cannot drink salty/briney water. It makes me very nauseous, but swallowing large grain sea salt is honestly not bad at all in comparison.

I should probably mention - I’m 18 days into a very long term prolonged fast currently - down 30lbs so far, and looking to complete no meals March and push till I hit Onederland - 257-227->199?

I add Mio to mine! Just a squirt or 2 into 24oz of water with salt and No salt. Make sure it’s ice cold, too, I found that helps. I use peach mango and strawberry watermelon flavor and it tastes like a homemade Gatorade.
