How do wild animals (mostly predators) have the energy to hunt while fasting?

How do they manage to still perform well in the animal kingdom having enough strength to hunt, catch and kill their prey? When I go into dry fasting mode I’d be lucky to even walk half the distance I walk normally everyday when eating. My energy levels just dip. The only time my energy levels are somewhat good is in the morning but as I go through the day it starts to disappear.

Do you guys think that maybe it’s mostly because of their adaptation to ketosis? I’ve read similar reports of low energy when people go into a keto diet. And since most predators eat meat and are most of them are most likely in ketosis they have the same energy levels when their body breaks their fat down for energy and when they actually eat.

Most people say that it’s because of the lack of electrolytes but wolves, lions, cheetahs etc don’t have a little water bottle by their side with a certain amount salt and potassium while on the hunt, so I’m not sure how true this is. What do you guys think? If anyone actually has an answer to this let me know.

Answer

You know what ? We humans can do the same just fine. I ended on the podium of national martial arts championships while fasting. Twice.

It just takes getting used to.

If you look into it, many high level athletes are so stressed before a tournament that they can’t eat.

Eating before performing is over rated, I think.
