basically just title
Start after dinner. That way you pretty much sleep through most of the first 12 hours. It also helps that by the time you wake up you are over the usual insulin whiplash that makes you hungry the moment the last food was digested.
After that hunger is a funny thing, it is mostly a mental game. I did a 4 day fast; I was not hungrier on day four that I was on day one. The worst time was probably day 3, I just could not stop thinking about food. Lo and behold that was gone the next morning.
You can’t stop yourself from getting hungry. But you can understand that it goes in waves. You’ve just got to outlast the hunger until it ends, and then you get a nice long break without hunger as your reward.
I imagine different things work for different people, but I did one 3 day fast during lockdown, and since I was stuck inside I’d get boredom cravings the entire first day. That night I started reading a book and drinking water whenever I got hungry. Worked like a charm!
