Answer

Electrolytes help. While I take 4 equal doses of salt and potassium throughout the day, with the magnesium I take half at noon and half just before bed.

It helps. But I still don’t sleep well on EFs, esp the 3rd night.

I mostly do OMAD dinner. No issues sleeping! EFs very occasional for me.

Answer

For me, after doing the following, I felt almost no hunger during fasting periods of a few days.

  1. Switch over time to one meal a day. Make it a slow transition.

  2. Take that meal at various different times throughout the day. Instead of always at the same time (part of hunger is that your body learns when to expect meals and makes you feel hungry at those times.)

  3. When you start doing longer fasts, do it slowly. If you feel unwell, just eat. You shouldn’t feel bad during a fasting period aside from some level of hunger depending on how well fat adapted you are.

For me this worked great….. but I still can’t sleep when fasting. I am not hungry, my mind is just too active.

Also as several people have likely mentioned, switching to keto beforehand tends to make the transition easier.
